New Attitude as an Election’s Coming

I find it funny the mayor and staff have changed the way to do business the change from not listening to city residents when an election year happen they start to listen, such as taking a 400,000.00 Canada calibration to a 100,000 celebration and then fid another 100,000.00 to top 200,000.00 and ask staff to find federal or provincial grants to which they went to a election to vote of a new pool and new 17%of taxpayer would come out and most business owner, renters, landlords who own commercial properties that can not vote in my opinion they should have put it in the mayors letter when they send out your taxes and let home owner and commercial and any legal voter vote as if you don’t live in Victoria ,B.C you are on the hook to pay the increase on the Land you own in Victoria . Also the unending spending and thinking it is ok to increase utilities bill by 50 to 80% and thinking most people make a 1050,000 salary may not fee the pinch as most people work 2to3 jobs to make ends meet and a salary of 50,000.00 and pay 400 per month on top of their mortgage Aswell of 3000.00 in rent or 35000.00 or mortgage and 1700.00 in interest

Lets talk about bad contracts BC lions game held at Royal Athletic park wrong event venue as Langford has a better facility more suited for a CFL team lack of number of bathrooms, lack of food and more seat made crowds feeling squeezed and an unexcepted large bill from BC Lions to cover their expenses .Bring Ottawa and the Vancouver Lions to Victoria, hotels, food and on and on

Treatment of the Harbor cats in two years 1 st year moving to Nanaimo to hold a playoff game so the BC LIONs could have a game here. The second breach of the Harbor Cats contract is taking a new client to a soccer team that is slow to pay their bills in Langford and telling Jim Swanson it’s his fault and his problem to fix. As they dropped the ball.

Dowler place THE MAYOR OF VICTORIA on behalf of the taxpayers gave a contract to a nonprofit a 1.2 million to purchase the land and building and 2million to operate for a year and then there is no proof of how the money has been spent such as how much the COE was paid, or staff or proof 75 people received help as privacy policies Nor as to holds the title of land ownership is it the City ie Taxpayers or is it the Nonprofit? Freedom of information will not answer my inquire and as an office in City hall should be able to tell me . And when people in the area said they were not happy to have this as a neighbor and turn it into the new PANDORA,AVE the mayors power gave her the right to do as she pleased again she is a resident of SAANICH and cannot vote in Victoria and also doesn’t pat taxes in Victoria

2920 Bridge street is another example of the Mayors power to open yet another homeless shelter with no talks with people in the area effected by this move .cleared out the building ,renovating going on ,contracts signed with B.C HOUSING and a non VICTORIA nonprofit while we thought the building was bought by the city and in fact is owned by a reality management & development company who is the landlord also not told of the Mayors (TENANT) plan to turn his (THE LANDLORD) building into a residential and do renovations without their knowledge or permission and as the city is not required to do no permit and no application for changing a commercial to residential building changes also the mayor has the power to do as she pleases not consulting with neighbor or the GEORGE Neighborhood COMMUNITY Association as per their agreement with BCHOUSING due to many ,Hotles and homeless shelters in the area

Sudden need to clean Up Pandora jurying an election in 8 months and the release of Grant Mckenzie the face of our place and OUR PLACE was let go do to a sudden lack of funds .I’m guess in has made a good living jurying his time with them plus severance he probley will receive

No discloser of the Salaries of CEO of non profits and what the pay is for staff and pensions for them

The 200,000.00 one time indigenous fund and the letter from the Mayor for donations for her charity of choice has been going on for the last year she was a sitting council member at 3 years since elected as they mayor of VICTORIA and I suspect this year to be added to the donation will total of over 1 million in donations on behalf of the taxpayers a conflict of interest as city of Victoria can’t ask for donations for hanging baskets
